The policy covers funeral expenses by cushioning policy holders’ families from typical financial burdens associated with providing loved ones with a dignified funeral at the time of bereavement and personal loss.
The funeral plan caters to both the banked and unbanked, which are individuals who do not earn salaries through the bank. It also caters to contract and part-time workers as well as entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The company will soon extend the product to formally employed and bankable customers of contractual age who meet the underwriting requirements of the insurance funeral cover.
Monthly payments for Mosako Funeral Plan range from P55 for the member and immediate family and up to P77 for the member, their family, two parents, and two in-law parents, where clients can claim between P3,000 and P15,000 depending on the age and the relation of the assured. Commenting on the issue, Letshego Botswana’s BancAssurance Manager Murphy Ntuane said the new product is a result of the continued commitment to developing innovative solutions that increase value for customers in ways that also create a positive impact on communities.
“Batswana covered under the funeral plan are assured of after-life arrangements that enable them to make appropriate preparations and bespoke services towards burial ceremonies,” Ntuane said. Botswana Life Executive Head Corporate Joseph Kuaho said by digitalising the application process through the LetsGo Digital Mall platform, Letshego Botswana’s customers can now access LetsGo Insure products and services anytime and benefit from the approval of their insurance applications within 24 hours of their application.
“We understand our customers’ need for a stable support system through this uncertain socio-economic period, as well as the desire for seamless and safe service delivery. Now, as we further leverage the possibilities brought on by increased digitalisation, we believe that having Mosako on the LetsGo platform will make the service process more efficient and seamless,” Kuaho said.
