Metropolitan Life Botswana Limited has appointed Mogopa as the new CEO effective October

Boitumelo Mogopa has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Metropolitan Life Botswana Limited.

Mogopa assumes the new role effective October 1, 2022. Mogopa undertakes this new leadership role with a wealth of experience and deep insights in Botswana’s financial services industry spanning over 23 years. Mogopa currently serves as the Retail Director within First National Bank (FNB) Botswana, where her term will end on September 30, 2022.

She has also served in various executive roles across Botswana’s financial services sector including FNB Botswana and Standard Chartered Bank Botswana. Mogopa is a chartered accountant with a BCom in Accounting and Business from the University of Botswana and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) (UK) and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). She has also undergone the Executive Development Programme with the Harvard Business School.

The Metropolitan Life Botswana Board is delighted to have someone of Mogopa’s calibre on board. Her strategic focus and customer centred approach will have a positive impact on all stakeholders. The Board also expresses its heartfelt thanks to Thebe Modikwa, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Metropolitan Botswana who stepped up as acting CEO in January 2021.

Thebe managed the transition and stability of the business during this time.
