Value of awarded tenders up 53%

The value of public projects awarded by the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) in the financial year ended March 2017 financial year was P6 billion.

This represented a 53% increase when compared to the previous year’s value of P3.9 billion. According to the latest PPADB annual report, the value of the tenders awarded exceeded financial threshold of Ministerial Tender Committees (MTCs).

PPADB executive chairperson, Bridget John said the total number of tenders awarded from different ministries was 239 during the financial year. She said the Board received 579 submissions and only 372 of those submissions required the Board to make adjudication decisions while the rest were for noting only.
