Whilst working from the head office of any establishment brings one closer to the centre of the decision-making processes,  Mmegi's new Editor RYDER GABATHUSE writes that his recent relocation to Gaborone after 27 continuous years of service and living in Francistown is akin to 'divorcing'  'The city of everything precious'

It was in the summer of 1994 when I landed in Francistown, then a town infested with squatter settlements in all its directions. Somerset East, West, PWD, Kgaphamadi, Maipaafela, Monarch, Madzibalori, Matjimenyenga, Coloured and others were indeed an eyesore.

At least I recently found myself exiting a diametrically changed Francistown with a befitting stature of a city, albeit with its own challenges.

Sadly, we live in a society that seems to be losing its moral fibre by the day.When parents take their children to a boarding school they do so to give them a brighter future, not to have some dirty paedophilic predator to prey on them.
