When the firm that employed them slammed its doors shut during the economic downturn of 2000, five courageous women from Selebi Phikwe held ajar the door of hope. Staff Writer, ONALENNA MODIKWA KELEBEILE, traces how they overcame the odds stacked against them and rose again

“A setback in life is a setup for a comeback”.

Those are the words of five women in Selebi-Phikwe who refused to regress into a state of despair and poverty when the firm that employed them folded up at the turn of the millennium.
