Raditlhokwa also cited other possible reasons as to why men flee when baby comes into the picture.  When a woman falls pregnant, he says, such men leave because they are hit with a realisation that they do not love their partners.  He observes that a man can stay in a relationship with one woman for years just for the sex while he has the other as a marriage prospect.

"This is a worrisome (but) growing trend in Botswana and it is time parents learn to teach their boy-children to respect women and learn to face their responsibilities at a tender age because the majority of men do not value love," says Raditlhokwa.
