Every year, the Kgatleng Family Fun Day Festival brings together people from near and far for a day filled with music, art, and fun activities.

Its objective is to create a vibrant environment where attendees can disconnect from their daily lives and connect with friends and family while enjoying performances of good art and music.

This year, the event will make a return on April 27 at the Staywell Gardens in Rasesa.

The organisers of the event have explained that they saw a gap in the entertainment market that needed to be filled, particularly in the rural area of Kgatleng. What started as a small event for the local community, quickly grew in popularity due to the high quality of performances and activities being offered.

Now, the Kgatleng Family Fun Day has become an event that attracts attendees from all over the country. Marang Madisa, the event organiser stated that one of the key aspects that set the event apart from others is its ability to cater to people of all ages. Madisa explained that the event offers a consistent variety of music and fun activities, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. From swimming to horse riding, quad biking to face painting, there is no shortage of entertainment options available. “We wanted to create an event that would bring people together and create lasting memories.

We believe that the Kgatleng Family Fun Day has become a place where people can come to relax, have fun, and connect with their loved ones,” Madisa said. In addition to providing a space for gathering and networking, Madisa stated that the event also plays a significant role in promoting the region as a tourist attraction as people travel from far and wide to attend the event, bringing in the much-needed revenue to the local economy. Furthermore, she mentioned that the event empowers the youth by allowing them to set up food stalls and drinks to sell, creating employment opportunities and allowing individuals to earn a living. “We are dedicated to bringing consistent, high-quality services to our attendees. We want the Kgatleng Family Fun Day to become a household name and a must-attend event for people all over the country,” she added.

Madisa highlighted that each year, they gather feedback from attendees through surveys to ensure that they are meeting the needs and expectations of the community. This feedback has been instrumental in the growth and success of the event, as it has allowed them to improve and expand their offerings. The line-up of artists performing at this year’s Kgatleng Family Fun Day is sure to impress music lovers of all kinds. From Leemckrazy and DJ Ngwazi to HanC and Ancestral Rituals, attendees can look forward to a diverse and talented group of musicians and performers.

“We are thrilled to have such a talented line-up of artists joining us this year. We believe that their performances will add an extra layer of excitement and entertainment to an already fantastic event,” she said. She further explained that the Kgatleng Family Fun Day is a celebration of art, culture, and community that continues to grow in popularity each year. With its diverse range of activities and performances, the event offers something for everyone to enjoy.
