The event organisers, Craft Merchants, said the Spring By Day Picnic line-up seeks to fill a void that has persisted in local events. "The Spring By Day Picnic line-up seeks to fill a void that has persisted in our local events, that of the absence of these well-loved Afro Pop and Jazz maestros. These are artists who have gifted Batswana timeless hits since the 1970s.
The event promises a day of musical immersion that is not to be missed, offering live music enthusiasts the chance to revel in the familiar after a prolonged hiatus," said Tlotlo Kebinakgabo speaking on behalf of the organisers. Kebinakgabo also said some of the artists have not performed on the local stages for more than eight years while others such as Sol Shibambu and guest artist Bholoja Ngubane from Eswatini are poised to make debut. Kebinakgabo assured patrons of stringent security measures.
"We will not compromise in any way. Our primary goal is to establish a serene and secure environment for patrons to unwind. We encourage early arrival to mitigate traffic congestion, given the event's extended duration. Starting at 10am and concluding at 10pm, early birds stand to gain the fullest experience," he explained. Furthermore, Kebinakgabo said the event is tailored to foster a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere for revellers to indulge in Afro Pop and Jazz melodies during the daylight hours.
In addition to the musical feast, patrons can anticipate an array of food and beverage stalls, ensuring seamless access to refreshments. The event's sponsors include GabzFm, Duma Fm and Publiko. Tickets for this eagerly awaited occasion are available for purchase at Webtickets.
