As the Forbes Under 30 Summit Africa returns to home soil for the third time in a row in May, popular American actor and TV Show host, Nick Cannon became the first highflier announced to grace the event.

According to a release from Forbes, Cannon's presence at the Forbes Under 30 Summit promises to enrich discussions and inspire emerging leaders from Africa and beyond.

With over 17 million subscribers across various social media platforms, Cannon is undeniably a creative and entrepreneurial force at the vanguard of his generation.

Adding a bit of a twist to the event, the organisers have also revealed that they have added exciting new features to the week-long event, which will give participants and new cultural experiences and excursions, an addition to the rich networking web that will have attended the event.

“This year, we want to ensure you have more opportunities to foster meaningful connections. While keeping the ethos of our acclaimed programming, we’ve dedicated time throughout the agenda to maximise your networking opportunities. We’re also incorporating an app to help connect with your peers,” reads the statement from Forbes.

This year the Forbes under 30 events will be hosted from May 5-8, 2024, in Gaborone. Over the course of four days participants from the Under 30 Africa community, the local Botswana community and the global Under 30 network, will gather to share a platform for networking and crucial conversations rooted in sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship. This year’s event will be held under the theme ‘The Engine Of Africa’s Economic Growth: Investment & Entrepreneurship.’ “Featured speakers will include government officials, venture capitalists, CEOs and celebrities.

Activities will include exploration around Gaborone, taking in the scenery, music, cuisine, and local staples of our host country,” further reads the statement. A quick look at the Forbes website also indicates that the event will also feature the famous bush party which was graced by Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido. Last year, the Botswana government spent P25 million to host Forbes a budget which also included slots for 200 young Batswana entrepreneurs from across the country, a budget that remains unchanged this year.
