With Gaborone slowly becoming a deserted town these days probably due to lack of entertainment, the event, which will take place at the Royal Aria Stadium is a confluence of music, dance and lifestyle.
The event organiser and promoter, Gilbert ‘PP wa Pimp’ Seagile of Gilbert Promotions, said the event CITY LIGHTS festival is meant to celebrate the end of another year and usher in a brand new one in style. With fun-filled activities and a good number of entertainers lined up for the event, Seagile also said the festival promises to be worthwhile for revellers from around Gaborone, Tlokweng and neighbouring areas.
The line-up includes Master KG, Black Motion, ATI, Scar, Bishop, Latty, Fingers and Rockzie while the DJs are Fresh, Ngwazi, Chef Gustos, Trax, Sly, Gouveia, Mr O, Chrispin The Drummer and many more. "With this event, we want to bring vibrancy in the City during the New Year's Eve and usher in the New Year in style. Gaborone has become a quiet city during the New Year and that should not be the case because it used to be a vibrant place with good music events and this event is about bringing that back," Seagile said
. "This event combines music and lifestyle and we want people out there to know that just like other cities, Gaborone is fun during this time of the year," he added.
Furthermore, he explained that there will be a party bus from South Africa to Botswana on the day of the event. Tickets for the festival sell for P200 and P1, 000 VIP.
