Dalom Kids has released a new single dubbed ‘Rona Batswana’ in appreciation of President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s commitment in changing the public’s life.

Dalom Studios director, Silvia Tshanda, who is the wife of the late disco legend, Dan Tshanda, told Arts&Culture that even though she acknowledges that many people including the youth are hard hit by unemployment, she was intrigued by some of the programmes such as Temo Letlotlo and Chema Chema that the President Mokgweetsi Masisi has come up with to help the youth find ways of earning a living. “I realised that people are going through a lot due to lack of employment in the country. Some do not know what to do about their situations. So, I contacted some officials to learn more about those programmes and decided to write a song about those programmes because there are people out there who do not know about them. I hope after hearing this song, many people will apply for them and come up with businesses to sustain their lives,” she said.

She added that since music is powerful, she thought using it to raise awareness through the song was a brilliant idea. She also called on the public to take advantage of those programmes saying for the President to bring forth such programmes, it proved that he really loved and cared for Batswana. In the song, Dalom Kids are praising President Masisi and applauding him for his dedication on changing the lives of his people. The song was produced and composed by Silvia. Moreover, she hinted that she plans to host a Tribute Concert for her husband soon. She said it was meant to celebrate Dan adding that Batswana really loved him and his music. She said the concert is also meant to thank Batswana for their endless support towards Splash music. Silvia also said she collaborated with different artists of different genres both locally and in South Africa where she is based to cater for the youth as well. She further explained that collaborating with Master KG and Nkosazana on Keneilwe bore fruits with the song doing very well both locally and internationally. She added that she would be working with various Splash legends in future like Peacock and others. Silvia promised to keep Splash music alive, as it is a legacy for her husband.
