Ananiuz Elohim, who was eliminated in the top six of the local music competition, My Star in 2018, is doing pretty well in the music industry.

The young star has released a new album dubbed, ‘Kefitlhe’ with 11 songs.

In an interview with Arts & Culture, Elohim said the album was produced by different producers including Cobbydollar from Accra, Ghana, who worked on a song called Israel, Volcano of the Angel of Heaben Studio who produced four songs as well as DJ Benyboi who produced ‘Kefitlhe’ that has been trending on social media platforms.

He explained that ‘Kefitlhe’ is also seen as an EP since it had different genres. He explained that ‘Kefitlhe’ which means to arrive, simply talks about reaching his dreams even though life is full of challenges.

He said he prayed that he succeeds in achieving his dreams. “It is available in all digital platforms, over 30 online streaming platforms. Only ‘Kefitlhe’ from the album is available at radio stations.

This is because of lack of funds to print more CDs for submissions and transportation since I stay far away from the city. Life has always been my inspiration. I write about what I go through.

I discovered I could sing when I was very young. I grew up believing that one day I will be a star,” he explained. He further explained that he writes about facts, things he goes through and about God since he grew up in a church. He added that he had been taught to pray and to believe in Him (God). He said his album is mostly consists of praise and worship songs.

Elohim explained that the idea was to make music that communicates, that was so relatable adding that his choice of being a singer was not about fame but to send people messages and help console them through his music. This self taught singer and song writer sings gospel, RnB, Afrobeat, Afrosoul, Jazz and House music.

He boasts of scooping position two at the FNB Bodiragatsi Jwame Lentswe Lame, where he won P15,000 after releasing a song called Corona. He shared a stage with the likes of Franco, Tumza and the Big Bullets, Figos, Charma Gal, Nature Bw, DJ Guyvos, Maatla Ephraim Basha, Makau and Dada Kavino. Moreover, he pointed out that he had done quite a number of music projects to showcase his talents and ambition therefore needed a helping hand so that he could fuel himself to continue to grow and hoist Botswana flag higher.

He said he has over 20 songs which he did not have money to shoot visuals for. He also said good music was expensive adding that poor music was affordable that is why many local music artists produce poor quality music.
