In a rather dramatic and possibly disappointing move for its legion of fans, The Gaborone International Music and Culturte Week (GIMC) organisers have cancelled its famous music festival.

The music festival, which is traditionally placed at the end of the week-long festivities will not happen this year. According to a statement from Leapfrog Advertising, the company that organises the fun-filled activities, the cancellation was due to the fact that they were unable to find a suitable venue.

“The music Festival will unfortunately not happen this year due to unavailability of a suitable venue commensurate with the size of crowd that always attend the festival.

The safety of our patrons, artists , suppliers and all other stakeholders is of paramount importance and cannot be left to chance,” a statements reads.

However, GIMC lovers will still enjoy other activities such as the Fitness and Aerobics, the Jazz Festival, Champagne Picnic, Poetry, Comedy and the Clap and Tap.

Tickets are on sale for the event which will be hosted under theme 'Pitso ya Botlhokwa'.
