Talented singer, Han C says his upcoming music show dubbed Mahalapye Spring Festival billed for this year's Independence Day in Mahalapye, is a testament of his growth in the music industry.

The artist announced the show following the launch of his production company, Mantswididi Productions.

In an interview with Arts & Culture, Han C said preparations for the music show are already in full swing after announcing some of the artists who will feature in the show. These include African Yard, Amantle Brown, Khoisan, Casper the DJ, and FME DJs.

Han C said the event is not a one-man show but a fully-fledged festival to appreciate his fan base in his home village. “Artists all over the world have their own shows. So, I was like why not, I have pushed and have developed a great fan base, why wait for a booking while I can have my own show? This is not a one-man show. I know people are confusing it to be a one-man show. The one-man show is on the way, ” Han C said.

Han C also explained that this is not the first time the event is held as they have previously held two instalments. “We had two instalments of this event in the past. The first instalment featured the likes of Master KG and some local acts.

The second one we had Dr Malinga. It’s a great way to give my people in Mahalapye who are artists the opportunity to perform with some of the big names from the local and international scene,” said Han C.

“For me as an artist, it is always good to see how people support you. Since it is known it is my show, the numbers will be proof of the support. Mainly I want Mahalapye’s upcoming artists to experience and share the stage with renowned artists,” added Han C. Han C said his newly launched company will also serve as platform that will boost upcoming artists.

He further pointed out there is already a project that they started under the auspices of Mantswitswidi Productions. Despite his success in the music industry, Han C said he remains humble and eager to work hard to achieve more. “I never really like putting myself on a pedestal or believing I have arrived or made it. Choosing not to do that helps me push, and I want to push beyond where I am at a certain point. I believe there is more I can do, and I believe there is more that our country can do as well,” he explained.

Kudos to Kario

A few weeks after the former ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) was reduced to a pale shadow of itself in the just passed General Election on October 30, it was only logical that you take a conscious decision of resigning from the party. This was before you could be pushed out of the position by irate party diehards who feel you did not do enough during your tenure as the head of the party secretariat. We know that it is at the party...
