Just this past week, Han C took to social media to announce that he has been nominated for the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) under ‘Best Male Southern Africa’.
From opening his own record label Mantswitswidi Productions and starting his own music festival dubbed ‘Mahalapye Spring Fest’, Han C now has an international nomination and all this happens in the year 2023. AFRIMMA awards are an annual music African music awards ceremony that aims to celebrate musical works, talent, and the creatives of the second biggest continent in the world, Africa. AFRIMMA awards cover all musical genres. When it comes to awards nominations, Han C is not new to it as he has four YAMA awards under his name. But with this nomination, it is one of its kind and also his first international nomination.
Han C could not help but give thanks to God for what he is doing by blessing his career. “Look at God, I have been nominated for Best Male Southern Africa at AFRIMMA and this has to be one of the best moments of my career,” he said. The Maloba hit maker with DJ KSB, however, has tough competition from the Southern African artists who have also been nominated more especially artists from South Africa. Han C faces stiff competition from the late Costa Titch, DJ Maphorisa, Sjava, Musa Keys and the late AKA who are all from South Africa.
Other artists that are nominated for the same category are; DJ Tarico (Mozambique), Macky Y2 (Zambia), and Winky D (Zimbabwe). Though Han C faces tight competition from the renowned Southern African artists, he strongly feels he can walk away with the award. “It is a tough category but guess what, I believe I do stand a chance to win the award,” he said. The winner of the Best Male Southern Africa will be determined by the most votes an artist can get and Han C pleads with Batswana to support him by voting in the AFRIMMA website. AFRIMMA awards will be held in Dallas, Texas in the United States of America on September 17 this year.
