Nono Siile’s first ever-solo sessions themed ‘Jazz Reflections with Nono Siile’ and also her single launch is slated for July 6 at the Social, CBD, Gaborone.
Her manager, Tshepo Ngakaagae, told Arts&Culture that the motivation behind staging the launch or music session stems from Nono Siile’s deep passion for music and a desire to connect with listeners on a more intimate level. Furthermore, she explained that as an artist, Nono Siile believed that music has the power to evoke emotions, tell stories and bring people together in a unique way.
“The story behind this music sessions launch is rooted in her personal experiences and creative expression.
Each song that will be performed holds a special meaning to her, reflecting moments of joy, heart ache, and growth. We wanted to create a space where she could share these stories through music and connect with others who may resonate with the emotions and themes explored in her songs,” she explained. Ngakaagae stated that introducing those Solo Sessions tagged ‘Jazz Reflections with Nono Siile’ aims to promote her entire craft and not just a specific song or album. She added that it was a unique opportunity to create an up close and personal experience with the artist as she reflects and shares stories behind her songs from the past 17 years of recording music and beyond, leading to a more innovative and exciting outcome.

She is currently holding to her name four albums, two singles and three collaborations. Nono Siile’s music evolved significantly since she started her career. Ngakaagae pointed out that Nono Siile started her career in 1999 as a backing vocalist for the late Dancan Senyatso and had worked well with other legendary artists in the music scene. She also said she released her first album in 2007 titled Kgarebe followed by many others. She explained that Siile’s evolution as a musician showcases her growth, creativity and willingness to push boundaries in her music.
