After initially announcing the postponement of the Kuru Festival to next month on their Facebook page, the organisers of the event have decided to go on with it as scheduled from August 24-25 at Dqae Qare San Lodge, near Gantsi.

The organisers on Tuesday had announced that the event was postponed due to a date clash with the Botswana Democratic Party primary elections.  “After a full day’s meeting today, the event organisers agreed that there was no way the festival could take place next weekend.

“All of us - Kuru, Dqae Qare organising the festival apologise for the inconvinience,” read the Facebook post that was later deleted. This caused major confusion and anger amongst the fans of the dance festival.
