The award-winning artist returns to the stage with the new song ‘Sthandawa sami’, trailblazing ball of fiery energy. Dabbling into the amapiano sound, Latty adds some soul and pop while the vocals add more rhythm to the song.
The track is a follow-up to his festive track Ngyekeleni. “This time around, ‘Sthandwa sami’ is all about spreading love and good vibes. DP Ramz is on production and we have a special guest appearance from South African artist, Elliker featuring on the track. ‘Sthandwa sami’ means 'My love' in Zulu and that is exactly what this single is all about.
It's a feel-good track that's sure to get your heart racing and your feet moving. But don't worry, even though I'm all about love these days, I'm still Gabz city's boyfriend. I know how to throw a party,” explained Latty. Latty said he is working on a ‘Sthandwa sami’ nationwide tour, which will see him launching the single in different parts of the country.
He stated that the new song has started getting airplay from local and regional radio stations. “I have always been an Amapiano fan since its inception. It's not a secret that I have always been a rapper but as a creative, I am bound to experiment with any sound that I would relate to. Life works in seasons. I would like to believe that this particular juncture in my music career has led me to this path. The switch to Amapiano music was inspired by the fast-growing Amapiano music genre, which is not just a music genre but also a culture", he said.
“The culture involves fashion, lingo, dance, and basic lifestyle in genera. I fell in love with the culture and I grew to appreciate it even more because it is an original African genre which resonates with me because I love originality and authenticity," said Latty. Speaking about his upcoming album, Latty stated that he has worked with several local and international artists and he is hoping to work with Amapiano gurus such as DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Shasha.
