After hosting a successful comedy show last month, Major Moves Comedy (MMC) returns yet again with another show tonight featuring renowned South African comedian, Siya Seya, as the headliner.

The event dubbed the Comedy Night Show, will be held at Staybridge Hotel in Gaborone. MCC has been at the forefront of reviving the comedy scene in Botswana by hosting a show every month.

“Major Moves Comedy is back with yet another rib-cracking show for their monthly stand-up comedy events. The comedy night will boast of thrilling, amusing top local comedians and also multi-award winning Siya Seya who is the headliner of the comedy night,” reads a statement from organisers.

Siya Seya will be making his way for the first time in Gaborone and MMC organisers vouch that the celebrated comedian will make comedy enthusiasts’ night worthwhile. In his career as a comedian, Siya Seya has brought people to their knees, laughing their lungs out over five successful one-man shows that he has hosted alone.

“The South African comedy genius will for the first time be bringing his edgy, witty and hilarious storytelling abilities to Gaborone specially dubbed travelling man,” said the statement. MMC organisers have promised the patrons that their money will not go to waste as the career of Siya Seya spans over 15 years and his experience remains impeccable in his journey as a comedian so he will get the job done. Siya Seya will not be the only heavyweight around, as local funnyman Thapelo Malani, who is known for his jovial jokes, will also be in the line-up on the night. “Thapelo Malani, who is a visually impaired comedian, will be in his element showing his prowess as he also has previously headlined a show in Lusaka, Zambia, performed in Lesotho, Eswatini and also toured South Africa,” said MMC officials.

Malani and Siya Seya seem to be having a bromance between the two of them. Just in the past month, Siya Seya hosted Malani at Hardrock Café at the world-famous Mandela Square at Sandton City Mall and the two will be rekindling their comedy friendship in Malani’s home country.

Meanwhile, organisers of the comedy nights added that their comedy nights look to ameliorate upcoming comedians’ careers by giving them the right platform to push their talent. Tickets for the comedy night tomorrow are sold at P150 single and P200 double. The show will commence at 8pm.
