As the date of crowning the next Miss Botswana queen draws closer, the organisation has announced that it is embarking on a journey to document the Beauty with a Purpose project for the Top 10 finalists.
Miss Botswana spokesperson, Ambrosia Sanboko, disclosed that the documentation also aims to showcase the impactful initiatives undertaken by these remarkable individuals, adding that the process will go on from January 16-22, 2024.
"The Beauty with a Purpose contest week will provide a platform for the finalists to share their initiatives with the world, shedding light on the diverse range of projects that have been undertaken to address pressing issues within their communities," Sanboko explained to Mmegi Online.
She expressed enthusiasm for the documentation, emphasising its focus on the finalists' dedication to making a meaningful difference in their communities. The top 10 finalists who will feature in the documentation are; Relebanye Bakane, Anicia Tebogo Gaothuse, Halle Chandapiwa Hirschfield, Lorato Kgangyapelo, Sebaga Lea Manyapetsa, Otshepo Omphile Nthonyana, Charmaine Keletso Reasentse, Lefika Arhea Tladi, Emma Anne Tshisimogo and Christina Karin Vanstaden.
It is expected that the documentation process will not only celebrate the contestants' beauty, but also serve as a reflection of their passion and dedication to creating a lasting impact.
"By capturing the finalists in action as they engage with their respective projects, the documentation aims to inspire and motivate others to become actively involved in community development efforts," Sanboko further explained, adding that the exercise is envisaged to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the finalists' journey, offering insights into the challenges they have faced, the progress they have made, and the impact they have had on their communities.
"By showcasing the personal stories and experiences of the finalists, the documentation aims to foster a deeper understanding of the transformative power of individual commitment and collective action," she added.
Sanboko said the documentary will air on BTV at 9pm during week days starting next week.
Meanwhile, the Miss Botswana spokesperson said the date for the Miss Botswana finale will be announced during a media briefing on January 27.
