Miss Supranational Botswana will host the Talent and Top Model showcase at the Game City Rooftop on March 2. During the event, the Top 30 contestants will showcase their performance and modelling fashion talent on the runway.

The event is an international annual female beauty pageant organised by Something Big (Pty) Ltd. In an interview with the pageant’s spokesperson, Kaone Moremong, she explained that the contestants have accumulated points from day one, saying their talent performances and modelling marks will be tallied up to select the Top 11.

“One of the contestants will be promoted to make it to the Top 12 through public SMS voting. There will be judges at the talent show who are experts in spotting talent and top models. We have been getting a lot of interest from people who want to collaborate with us. Some we have taken on the journey with us while others are in negotiations,’ she explained.

Furthermore, Moremong pointed out that they have not received any monetary sponsorship since inception last year despite the team’s intense efforts to find some, but they have not given up. She said they continue asking for monetary support and stay hopeful that they will eventually secure one. However, she emphasised that the founders had financed the pageant.

She also said they have other in-kind sponsors like FifiFab and Jack’s Gym who take care of their queen’s grooming and fitness. She added that they also had workshop facilitators like the Lakay Beauty Studio who came to do a make-up tutorial for the Top 30 contestants. Moreover, Moremong said they added their first-ever pageant podcast to the Miss Supranational offerings that will be airing every week.

“This podcast is called Giving Pageantry and is hosted by Mosa Balesamang, who we scouted from the first Miss Supranational competition last year. The podcast features our sponsors, the team who share the behind-the-scenes drama as well as a chance for the audience to get to know the contestants. The winner will walk away with prizes worth P100, 000 and a management team.

The finale is scheduled to be on March 31, 2024 and the venue will be confirmed at a later date,” she ended.
