The countdown is finally over for the Mmina Thoko fiesta with gospel lovers expected to throng the Maitisong Theatre later tonight at 7pm.
The event organiser, Shinkie Mochawacha, was of the view that despite hosting the event on Friday, which is typically a groove day, it will be a successful show. “We all know that on Fridays here in Gaborone there are so many events that people go to, but this event is for those that always stay at home on Fridays because they do not know where to go and end up being bored.
“So, this is the event for them," Mochawacha said. He further said Friday was the most ideal day on the weekend. “We also chose Friday because if you look at Saturday, there are people that go to churches and other events and we did not want to inconvenience those people. So they can join us on Friday,” he added. For his part, prominent gospel artist, Omega Khunou, said they are more than ready for the event and will give worshipers value for their money. “It is always good to be in Botswana and I want to say I am excited about the show later today. It will be a great show, people can really expect a good performance,” said the South African singer. Ticket prices for the event have been set at P250 for one.
