Bame Mokotedi has penned yet another book titled, Unscripted Steps.

Despite being a relatively new author, Mokotedi’s latest published book takes her tally to three books. Mokotedi, who recently completed her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Botswana, stated that she believes Unscripted Steps is the best book she has authored thus far. She explained that she believes this is because she has gained experience over time and learned from her past work. Mokotedi told Arts&Culture that she was offered a place to pursue her Master’s Degree in Politics and International Relations by UB soon after completing her Bachelors’ degree. “Well, Unscripted Steps being my third book, the journey with writing doesn’t get easy regardless of how many books you publish because, above it all, you want to give your writers your best version. So, with this book, the journey was exciting as always,” Mokotedi said. She further stated that the book is more like a continuation of her first book titled, The First Step into the Last Step. “The exciting thing about the book is that it’s more like a series of my previous book and I will be frank the journey in this book was exciting, emotional, full of anger and all sorts of emotions because ideally, I was in the shoes of the character,” she said.

Additionally, she added that the book is not only her favourite but also of her father who has been supportive of her, adding that she put a lot of creativity into it. The young author highlighted that her book, Unscripted Steps, can be both for leisure/recreation or educational purposes as she revealed that the message of the book is impactful in all aspects. “The message behind the book is more of having a stoic way of living with a slight blend of alchemy in it. So, for one, the message of the book actually would sound rhetorical because it will be a different epiphany to each reader,” Mokotedi said. She added: “The message is written in the universe or how one converses with it. So, it’s interestingly subjective. I am equally excited to see the reviews of my readers,” Mokotedi happily said. Regarding her future plans, she stated that she wants to penetrate the international market by aiming for the coveted title of best seller even if it’s just for Africa alone. Lastly, she advised her readers to read the book with an open mind in order to unleash their inner persona.

We should care more for our infrastructure, road safety

These roads, which are vital conduits for trade and tourism, have long been in dire need of repair. However, while this development is undoubtedly a positive step, it also raises questions about broader issues of infrastructural management and road safety that deserve closer scrutiny. The A3 and A33 roads are not just any roads, they are critical arteries that connect Botswana to its neighbours and facilitate the movement of goods and people...
