It will be Morda’s first performance in the country since going solo following his messy departure from Black Motion in 2022.
Morda and Artworks Sounds have their work cut out for them to impress the crowd following the success of the previous first two editions which were headlined by another South African top Afro-tech- DJ, Oscar Mbo.
They have big shoes to fill as replacements of Oscar Mbo, who misses out due to international bookings commitments. Oscar Mbo has been almost a resident performer on the show having headlined the first two editions and left an indelible impression on the patrons. Let’s Out Party has turned out to be one of the popular events in Gaborone and is synonymous with the upper class patrons otherwise branded MaGaborone. It has become the go-to-party for house and techno music lovers in the city.
According to one of the event organisers, Kaone Mhlope, the occasion has endured noticeable growth because of the loyal patrons who have shown support for it throughout. “And we are humbly grateful for such and we still promise our revellers the best experience in all our future events,” Mhlope said. Mhlope further said whilst the event has branded itself as more of a deep house and techno, it is not their plan to limit to that music genre. “Indeed that has been the case but we are not really boxed into that narrative because we feature supporting acts consisting of other pioneers of different genres like Hip Hop and R’nB. Mhlope also explained that Oscar Mbo, who has enjoyed a great run with the show, could not make it to this edition due to international bookings. However, he explained that he will be present in the next events as he has become “a friend of the show”.
The theme is Bad & Boujee, which is mostly relatable to females. It commonly refers to middle-class or upwardly black people. To make it reasonable and affordable, this time the organisers have come up with different VIP ticket packages called the Lounge Experience. There is P2,500 otherwise called the Normal One which allows two people entry and a P1,200 bar tab, the P5,000 Let’s Groove ticket which comes with four tags, P3,000 bar tab and dedicated waiter, the P10,000 package called the Bad and Boujee for five people.
This one comes with a P5,500 bar tab and dedicated waiter. “The Mohegan Sun package for six people comes with P10,000 bar tab and dedicated. The last one is the Cabana Experience which costs P25,000. It’s a package for eight and comes with P15,000 bar tab and dedicated waiter,” explained Mhlope. Tickets for the show are available at all Webtickets outlets, Spar and Choppies.
Over the past weekend in Greater Gaborone, four people tragically lost their lives in separate accidents, a stark reminder of how vulnerable we are on the roads, especially during this busy time of year. The accidents, which claimed the lives of three pedestrians and one driver, paint a grim picture of the dangers faced by everyone on the road, not just motorists but also pedestrians. In one case, a young man was fatally struck by a truck whilst...
