Oampata Faith Leroy-Mosepidi, the 26-year-old who was crowned MRS Botswana 2024/2025 queen last Saturday, has vowed to use her reign to impact lives.

Leroy-Mosepidi hails from a small village in the Kgalagari called Draaihoek, just 54km south east of Werda. She is married in Moshupa and plans to fight social ills such as gender-based violence (GBV). This beauty with brains, who is an accountant by profession, told Arts&Culture that she joined the pageantry because she is concerned about GBV, which is ravaging the fabric of society. She said this is why she launched her project titled, Letsibogo, in March this year as part of her efforts to address the matter. She added that Letsibogo is a holistic mentorship programme targeted at the youth and children who hail from households affected by GBV.

“The mandate of MRS Botswana is to advocate for happy and healthy marriages and family lives, and by my mere participation in the pageant, I have learnt so much about what being a homemaker is, what being a woman of substance means and these are lessons I cherish very much. I believe my purpose lies in serving people. As such, this title and crown will only push me to do more for my community and inherently, my country,” she said. When talking about her journey in the pageantry, Leroy-Mosepidi indicated that she did not face many challenges in her journey towards coronation as she had so much support from her husband, family and church so it made it very smooth and easy for her.
