With preparations for the much-anticipated Kgosi ya Mosadi Concert with Koffi Olomide already underway, organisers have now issued ticket prices, which went on sale this past Monday.

The organisers have opened up for sales of early bird tickets which goes for P300.

The concert, which features one of Botswana’s own most celebrated woman artist Charma Gal and Democratic of Congo (DRC) superstar and Rhumba music ambassador Koffi Olomide is scheduled to take place at the National Stadium in Gaborone on October 29.

The event is a brainchild of Lesego Tikologo through his promotion company, Lesh T Entertainment.

Since its launch a few weeks back, the festival has attracted public interest as it will pit Botswana’s finest against a celebrated music icon in Koffi Olomide.

Tikologo told Arts & Culture that they had to announce ticket sales on time because of the magnitude of the event.

“As you know, this is a massive festival. The release of ticket prices is part of the ongoing preparations to build up the hype, which I can say so far so good. We can't complain. The reaction has been good. People are happy with the price and many are saying it is the cheapest and they didn't expect that. In short, they are satisfied with the price,” said Tikologo.

The standard ticket for the festival sells at P500, while the VIP one goes for a price of P1500. There is also a VVIP ticket selling at P2500.

While there are some dissenting voices over the prices, Tikologo expressed optimistic that people will buy the tickets in large numbers. He said majority of the people are content with the price. The tickets sell online, Webticket Riverwalk kiosk and all Spar outlets across the country.

He stated that they are also working on releasing the full line up for the festival, with interesting names expected to make the cut. He also emphasized that Koffi Olomide will perform with a full band. The Papa Ngwasuma hitmaker recently released confirmation video on his social media account.

“Yes, as soon as we finish some few logistics, we will release a full line up,” he added.

The Kgosi Ya Mosadi with Koffi Olomide festival is meant to celebrate Charma Gal’s musical journey.

In one case, a young man was fatally struck by a truck whilst...
