In a bid to promote Rhumba music and its musicians, Adventure 99 under, Bandleng All Star Experience Activation Tours, will host Rhumba Army on March 25, 2023 at Two Nine Farm in Kopong.

In an interview with Arts & Culture, the event coordinator, Dops Baipidi said they wanted to recognise the Rhumba artists and give them the platform to give their fans what they long proposed, which is to see the Rhumba family under one roof.

He added that Rhumba fans needed soul uplifting after all the trauma they went through during the COVID-19 that was why they decided to host the event. “This event is not only about music, it is also the revival of the Rhumba music that is why we are doing 100% local and strictly Rhumba genre.

We will be working with 100% local artists such as Dedco Kgalagadi Express, Obligatto and Original Stars, Fresh Les and Mosako Stars, Jeff Matheatau and Yhakho Bands, Tumza and The Big Bullets, Morefire and Unique Stars, Rocking Stars, Slizer, Drumqueen BW, Tebza, Dannybass Crew, DJ Twaza Bw and DJ Oxcy. Our Mcee’s will be Umaga, Babe Police, Da Rose and Walkman,” he said.

He said tickets for the show sell for P100 standard ticket, P180 double ticket (admitting two people) and Sekwata P320 (admits four people). He assured revellers that security will be tight as they have hired a security company whose security personnel will be patrolling the area around the premises. He added that alcohol and food will be sold at the venue.

Cooler box is free the whole night. “This being the first Rhumba event of this magnitude in Botswana, we wanted to make it more about the fans of Rhumba. The reserved car parking will be only P20 the whole night,” he ended.
