The search is on for the young woman who will take over the crown from the reigning Miss Botswana queen Palesa Molefe.

This comes after Miss Botswana organisers opened up entries for the competition to select the Top 30 models.

According a statement from Miss Botswana, forms have been availed on the website; www.missbotswana.co.bw for aspiring queens to register online. The organisers also said entrants could find detailed information on what is required for one to be eligible.

“There are also tips for those who embark on the journey, particularly the emphasis on the importance of the Beauty with a Purpose Project,” read the statement.

The registration fee is P250.

The organisers also expressed hope to get entries coming in from far and wide as they utilise the added advantage of technology this year and moving forward. Entries for Miss Botswana 2022 will close on July 28.

Meanwhile, the organisers have unveiled the panel that will determine the Top 30 once entry submissions are over. The panel is made up of Dr Mpho Kuaho, Imaan Kader, Tonderai Tsara, Tamati Ramatlhakwane, Sharon Mathala, Lorato Lala Tebogo, Malebogo Sesinyi, Michael O'Keeffe, and Brando Keabilwe.

The organisers said the individuals are all captains of the industry in their respective fields and qualified by different merits to identify the potential queen “through their different expertise, socioe-conomic and socio-cultural personalities and various experience with brand affiliation and the creation of brands”.

It is said that the public will have an opportunity to vote for favourite candidates at different stages.
