Sungura music outfit, Nigel Shoko and Mberengwa Express have shifted their focus from their traditional Sungura genre to Afro pop.

The band has already released two singles from their upcoming fifth album titled Dineo, which will be a seven-track Afro-pop music project. The band has also been known as Tears of Africa or Flames of Africa.

“The Afro-pop album came as a request from our supporters after they had seen and heard us performing a number of Afro pop and jazz music covers during our live performances, as they would compliment us saying we actually perform the covers well,” Shoko, the band’s lead singer said.
