Michael Sekaba famed as Uncle Dipopae and also famous for children’s event in Kanye village, will host a One Man Kids Show at Warm Hands Hotel Garden on Saturday in a bid to appreciate his fans.

The organiser of the event said the show is a kiddies festival mainly focused on family bonding over everything. Uncle Dipopae explained that one-day, he realised that he had been hosting the kiddies festival for more than six years and decided to appreciate and support his fans by treating them to a one-man show.

“I realised that I owe them this. When moving around Kanye, the children always recognise and make sure they greet me. That on its own shows that I have been doing well for them through the kiddies festival. That is why I decided to appreciate them by doing a One Man Show,” he said.

“At the event there will be water slides, jumping castles, egg race, face painting, sack races, pizza competition, dance competition and winners will get hampers from Mascom. There will also be Setswana games for adults to teach young ones how they used to have fun before the era of Internet and cellphones,” he explained.

Furthermore, he stated that his target audience are families, starting with toddlers all the way to adults who are the guardians of the day. He added that Kanye Native DJs will perform at the event. He also said food stalls will be available for the first three people for P650 each. Uncle Dipopae said they pride themselves in the provision of top notch security adding that they had never received a complaint of misconduct nor criminal activity at the event.

“The challenges I face are usually in the logistics, since some of the items used for kids activities on the day are sourced from outside. The owners may slack off in providing even if the full amount has been paid. One other thing may be that some parents want to just bring kids to the show and not be there to participate in the set family games hence hurting young ones who would want to participate or the envy that their friends and parents are doing it together, hence they may cry non stop disturbing the others,” he said.

Moreover, he pointed out that if the one man show becomes a success as he anticipates it to be, he would surely host it annually with improvements based on the feedback he will get from the participants. Tickets are sold at Puma/Midas Fuelling Station, Shell Mongala Mall, Total and Caltex Fuelling Station for P30 kids and P50 adults with P40 and P60 to be paid at the gate.
