Botswana will once again be in the international spotlight following local talents, William Last KRM and Jack Botlhoko's nominations for the African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA).
The AEAUSA, formed in 2015 and headquartered in the USA, recognises and rewards African and Caribbean talents giving winners global stage attention. Comedian-cum-rapper William Last KRM has earned three nominations, making this his second time in a row. The celebrated comedian is looking to defend the Digital Content Creator of the Year nod, which he was awarded last year after being nominated in the same category.
He faces competition from Ghanaian YouTuber, Wode Maya, who recently spent over two weeks in the country exploring some of Botswana's treasures, along with seven other content creators.
He will also contest for the Social Media Influencer of the Year gong. With over four million followers across social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook), the comedian has earned recognition for his content, keeping people entertained with his short skits. The Botswana comedian will compete for the award alongside South Africa's sensational influencer, Khanyi Mbau. He has also been nominated under the Best Comedian category. On the other hand, videographer Botlhoko, who has produced music videos for prominent artists like Master KG and Vee Mampeezy, has also earned his debut AEAUSA nomination. He is nominated for Video Director of the Year. He will battle for the award alongside Kyle Lewis, Daps, The Alien and many more. The awards ceremony will be held in New York on November 28.
