Gantsi North constituency residents have been reminded to consider their struggles, particularly rising unemployment and static low wages, as they prepare to cast their votes in the 2024 General Election billed for October.

UDC president Duma Boko highlighted that, by so doing, they would be able to make more informed decisions at the polls. "Reflect on your challenges. I've done my part," he emphasised. Furthermore, when launching Gantsi North parliamentary candidate, Noah Salakae who was the area MP following the 2014 General Election but subsequently lost in the 2019 General Election. Boko stressed that only the UDC could improve their lives. Moreover, he pointed out that the power to bring about change lies in their hands, as they can ensure a UDC victory and a loss for the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

During the rally, he also criticised the Ipelegeng programme, arguing that with its employees earning just P547 per month, it won't lift people out of poverty, especially given the high cost of living. Instead, he contended that the programme would only keep people in poverty. Moreover, he emphasised that the UDC genuinely cares about improving people's lives, which is why they advocate for living wages for workers. Additionally, Boko highlighted the importance of voting for individuals who are familiar with the community and its problems. He pointed out that opposition politics require sacrifice, and that many who enter it either end up being bought out or eventually give up.

Nevertheless, he praised Salakae as a true advocate for opposition politics, noting that he didn't join politics for self-enrichment. Furthermore, Boko advised Salakae to remain steadfast, cautioning that the BDP would employ various tactics to try and undermine him. However, he encouraged Salakae to stay strong and not be shaken. He also urged the residents to vote for people they can trust. Meanwhile, when he addressed the residents, Salakae pleaded for their support, asking them to give him a chance to lead and develop the area. He described himself as their messenger and emphasised that the decision to bring about change was in their hands.

Additionally, he requested that they not only vote for him but also their councillors, as he believed that they could rebuild the country together, especially since it is currently in decline. He also he urged the residents to support his cause to start campaigning and spreading the message to others. The UDC reportedly welcomed 119 members from the ruling BDP.
