Dis-Chem Botswana has expanded its branches in Botswana by opening a new store located at the newly built The Fields Mall.

This is the retail pharmacy chain's third store in the country and thus far the second largest after the Airport Junction store, while the other store at Galo Centre Mall at Francistown.

The newly opened The Fields Mall is located in the centre of Gaborone on the east of the Gaborone Bus Rank in the Central Business District (CBD).

The store manager, Katlego Mokhosoa said the pharmacy retail needed to be more accessible to local consumers through the opening of the third store. “The Fields Mall is located in the CBD.

The population in this part of the city is ever increasing. There are a lot of both private companies and government offices in this area. These are the people who make up a significant percentage of our customers.

The mall is itself is modern, vibrant and brings some excitement to the general public. The mall is very accessible and that’s one of the things we considered for our customers. The new store is open and fully operational, I would like to urge the public to come through and enjoy a wide range of products at reasonable prices,” he said.

The new store was officially opened to consumers last Thursday and it opens at 8:45am until 7pm from Monday to Friday while on Saturday it opens at 9am until 3pm. On holidays the store opens at 9am until 3pm.

According to Mokhosoa, the new store has employed 26 personnel and will be looking to add more. “As a store we are determined to help the government to create job opportunities. So definitely will be looking to beef up our staff once more and one thing about us is that we hire mostly the youth,” he said.

Dis-Chem Botswana offers among others dental health products, cosmetics and has a fully operational dispensary.
