First Capital Bank launched its new Consumer Service Centre recently

First Capital Bank, which is part of the FMB Capital Holdings Group, found it befitting to officially open a new Consumer Service Centre at the Main Mall in Gaborone.

The bank believes it will boast a new look and feel, and also offer comprehensive banking services with exceptional staff who are dedicated to meeting customer’s financial needs.

First Capital Bank opened its doors to Botswana in 2008. The bank’s country manager of Consumer Lending, Thatayaone Nicholas Matlapeng, expressed gratitude at the occasion graced by Gaborone’s Mayor Austin Abraham. “I am so excited that we are here today as we open our newly refurbished establishment.

This consumer service centre is important as it is in the heart of the city, and very close to our customers. We do not only give loans, but we also give other products,” Matlapeng said. He further revealed that they sponsored the Lefika Tournament under the bank’s brand product, Lefika, a service account that is open to the public. Through the service centre, the bank is strategically positioned to also bring services to ordinary people as well as save. “We are hoping that we keep on expanding our services as a growing bank.

There are bigger banks that have established themselves for the longest time, as a bank we also want our stake, and we are coming with our humble and small steps. We appreciate the support we are having,” Matlapeng added. He highlighted that the new service centre reflects First Capital Bank’s commitment to providing a seamless and customer-centric banking experience. The bank provides financial services aimed primarily at independent small to large-scale enterprises.

Also, it is an organisation that primarily serves the financial well-being of its customers, it is also an organisation that understands the importance of community and is committed to enhancing the lives of those in the communities it operates in, which is in line with the mayor’s sentiments. “I am delighted to witness what is happening in our capital city, Gaborone, and most importantly in our historic mall. We celebrate the opening of the new branch, we are thankful for your services, and we are familiar with them. Let your service include blue-collar workers, as it is their way of finding a living and feeding their families,” Abraham said.

Additionally, the mayor urged First Capital Bank to engage more in corporate social responsibility (CSR). Looking at the fact that CSR can benefit societies, such initiatives may aid a business in attracting investors by demonstrating effective risk management techniques and an understanding of impact. Furthermore, companies can demonstrate to investors that they are trying to conduct themselves ethically and responsibly by implementing a CSR policy.
