Members of a family in Kopong are reeling in shock after they were attacked and robbed by four masked men whilst in their sleep early Sunday morning.

According to the police the quartet stormed into the family's home at around 3am after fatally poisoning their dogs. They forced entry into the house and stole two television sets and a Nissan vehicle. Mogoditshane Police Station assistant commander, Assistant Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi said they have launched a probe to locate and arrest the suspects who are still at large. "We haven't yet located the vehicle, we don't know if they were using it as a getaway or they wanted to steal it too, but investigations are ongoing. However, the quartet didn't hurt the victims. They only took their belongings and fled," Ramaphoi said. Ramaphoi further revealed that home invasion incidents remain a concern in his policing area, pleading with public members to always be cautious and tighten their security.
