New ministries, no new jobs

While many people thought that an increase in the number of ministries would mean creation of jobs, the Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP) Carter Morupisi says there will be no new employment. In an interview with Mmegi, Morupisi also said the re-alignment of ministries will come at no cost.

“There will be no jobs created. We’re just realigning ministries using the same workforce and emphasising on areas we need to prioritise in ministries,” he said.

This reiterates words by President Ian Khama who recently announced that there were no more job openings in government, Morupisi said.
