Tlokweng police have arrested a 25-year-old man after he was found in possession of 35 sachets of dagga also known as Motokwane.

Police nabbed the suspect during an ongoing stop, question and search operation for Easter holidays. The suspect was driving alone in Tlokweng at around 2am on Saturday. In an interview with MmegiOnline, Tlokweng police station commander, Superintendent, Unoziba Rari, confirmed that the young man was found in possession of 35 sachets of dagga estimated to weigh 140 grams and two sachets of a substance suspected to be methcathinone powder popularly known as "Cat".

Rari stated that looking at its quantity they suspect that he might be selling the drugs, adding that investigations on the matter are ongoing to establish where the young man gets his supply.

"We are yet to take the illicit substances for further testing. Drug use remain a concern as we continue to arrest people in possession of illicit substances like dagga, cocaine, methcathinone to mention but a few. What worries us the more is that these substances always find their way into schools hence our plea to members of the public to help us curb drug use," he said.

However, Rari said so far the public celebrated Easter holidays in a calm manner in his policing area, because they have not recorded serious cases such as rape, murder, robbery to mention but a few.
