Two pedestrians perish in separate mishaps

In the first accident, which took place on Saturday afternoon at around 1:00pm along Molepolole Road, near Nando's and opposite SSKB Barracks, a 38-year-old man tragically lost his life when he was struck by an Audi A4 while attempting to cross the road.
Deputy Divisional Traffic Officer South Central, Boiki Mojalemotho said the victim suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nkoyaphiri Clinic by medical professionals.
The Audi A4 involved in the incident was driven by a 42-year-old man and investigations into the accident are currently underway. In the second incident that occurred later that same day, along Mogoditshane Way near the Block 3 turn-off, a 26-year-old man lost his life while attempting to cross the highway from the Block 7 side towards Block 3 in Gaborone at approximately 9:10pm.
“He was hit by a Toyota Hilux that was driven by a 36-year-old man and was certified dead on arrival at Sidilega Private Hospital. Investigations on both accidents are ongoing,” he said.
