Botswana's sixth President, Duma Boko has appealed to the newly sworn in, six ministers and two deputy ministers not to slack behind and serve Batswana at their level best.

The President stated that he will announce the cabinet in a batches of six as a way to afford the public opportunity and time to critique is choices. He has since shared that the new cabinet will encapsulate of 18 ministers despite him wishing to notch down the number to 10.

Speaking after the swearing in of Cabinet, he stated that he expects the Cabinet to serve the citizens of Botswana at their level best and leave no room for disappointments.

"I hand you over to the citizens of this republic to work with, to guide you, to hold your hand and please you dare not fail. You dare not disappoint, you dare not discredit the values enshrined in our constitution," Boko pleaded.

He further added, "God help you, god help all of us and our country".

The recently sworn in cabinet include Vice President, Ndaba Gaolathe who will serve as the Minister of Finance , Specially Elected Member of Parliament (SEMP), Dr Stephen Modise who is also Minister of Health, Lawrence Ookeditse Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Micus Chimbombi, Minister of Lands and Agriculture and Dr Edwin Dikoloti who will serve as the deputy in the same ministry.

Nono Kgafela-Mokoka is Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education, while Miss World Africa Lesego Chombo, was appointed Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs with Dr Phenyo Butale serving as Minister of International Relations.

More ministers are set to be appointed as President Boko shared that he will announce his Cabinet in a batches of six and indicated that his term will see 18 ministries despite him wishing to notch the number down.
