Amos Makes A Strong Comeback :: Mmegi Online

Nijel Amos made the strongest comeback over the weekend at the European circuit that was held in Budapest, Hungary. Amos snatched the first position by clocking 1:42:14 in the men’s 800m.Unfortunately he finished in position four in a time of 1:43:29 yesterday at the London Diamond Meet.

It was the second best time of his career and fastest time in the world since the 2012 Olympic finals. Amos’ run made him the fifth fastest man of all time, breaking his own meet record. The 800m sensation, has been under a lot of strain after the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games below par performance.

Another athlete who had a good day in the office was Baboloki Thebe, who registered 44:54 at the London Diamond League, finishing fourth in the men’s
400m. Abdalleleh Haroun of Qatar came first in a time of 44:07 and Paul Dedewo of United States of America came second clocking a time of 44:43. Kirani James of Grenada was third in a time of 44:50.
Thebe told Sport Monitor that he was impressed with his performance, especially that he made a Season’s Best.
