BOT50 to pay Angola P1m for Independence match

BOT50 will pay Angola P1 million for participating in the Independence Day match against Zebras, which is part of the country’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Initially, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) had targeted Nigeria but the fading continental giants proved unaffordable, demanding P2.5 million.

Angola, BFA chief executive officer, Kitso Kemoeng said, had initially demanded P1.3 million as appearance fee. But eventually agreed to a reduced figure of P1 million, which the organisers, BOT50 will fork.
