Botswana Life has provided P5.580 million worth of insurance cover for the Under-21 netball team, which will represent the country at the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup (NWYC).

The NWYC kicks-off in Gaborone on Saturday. The insurance company will provide the team with a group life cover worth P2.7 million, group disability cover of  P1.8 million and a permanent health insurance cover of P1.080 million up to December 19.

Speaking during the sponsorship launch in Gaborone yesterday, Botswana Life chief executive officer, Bilkiss Moorad said events like the NWYC come once in a lifetime hence the need to be part of the tournament. “When Botswana Netball Association (BONA) approached us with the request to sponsor the national team with insurance cover, we were honoured as it is a lifetime opportunity. As the company that associates itself with the development of communities, we found it necessary to be part of this historic event that would also boost us from a business perspective,” Moorad said. She said the 2017 NWYC has been the most talked about event recently and therefore all Batswana should be part of it and feel the games’ hype. Moorad said the opportunity would give them a chance to interact with the netball team, Dinaletsana, so that they can elevate them in their next stage of life, adding that BONA is doing a great job in developing young talent and putting Botswana on the map.
