Clubs gave Chiefs' friendly the green light - Mamelodi

Botswana Premier League chief executive officer Bennett Mamelodi is disappointed that some clubs are accusing them of double standards following a decision to allow Mochudi Centre Chiefs to play a friendly match against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs.

The two clash at the National Stadium on November 16. He said the proposal to bring the Soweto giants was presented to the BPL board and was approved by the majority of the 16 clubs.  He said the idea to bring the club here was not mainly for the match but to workshop the Premier League clubs on how to accelerate the commercialisation drive.

He was disappointed that those querying the decision do so through the media and not through the relevant structures.
