Botswana’s top ranked table tennis player, Bonolo Mabote’s future in the national team hands by a thread following reports of misconduct during camps.

Mabote has been making the headlines for the wrong reasons after he was accused of misconduct, the most recent being at the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville last year where the player was allegedly drunk in camp. The player was then dropped for the African Union Sports Commission (AUSC) games in Namibia last December despite impressive performances.

“As long as he does not change his attitude I do not think he would be regarded for future national team call ups. He has been warned and punished before. The player should take responsibility for his actions and we also need to set an example for younger players,” a source close to the developments said.
