F/town club introduces children golf programme

Golf is seen as an elitist sport for the rich. It is not easy for every Jack and Jill to practice swings on the golf course to play what has of late become the most paying sport world over. But the Francistown Golf Club is set to change perceptions of the game through a programme targeting children.

“As of January next year, the Francistown Golf Club would be inviting young children to train as future golfers,” said Tebogo Toteng, the competition secretary at the club.

He explained that the envisaged programme is part of the club’s plans to establish a well-coordinated golf academy in the country.
