F/town to have women soccer league

FRANCISTOWN: The northern region is scheduled to launch its inaugural women soccer league in February next year, an official has said.

The interim chairperson of the envisaged league, Desmond Dabilani Jenamo told Mmegi Sport this week that they are determined to make the competition a success. He said the interim committee has been courting potential sponsors to come on board and promote women football in the northern part of the country. He is confident that they will get sponsors for the league.

Several clubs have shown interest in participating in the league with seven already registered to take part. The registered ones are Francistown United, Amigoes, Ladies Focus, Holy Ghost, Glantine Girls, Coloured Stars and Reteng Banyana.
