Gumpo wins Roscoe Bonna blitz title

Thabo Gumpo has won the Roscoe Bonna Valuers Speed Chess Championship held over the weekend at Yarona Country Lodge. The 23-year-old from Enpassent Chess Club won the top prize of P1,200 in the open section with nine points out of 11.

Barileng Gaelafshwe of Mobile Chess Club was second while Moakofi Notha from Bonyonyo was third. Notha and Gaolashwe scored nine points each and had to be separated by a tiebreak. The two pocketed P800 and P700 respectively.

Providence Oatlhotse of Mobile was fourth with eight points, followed by Chadna Priyav in position five with seven points.
