The Industrial Court will this morning hear a case in which the suspended Botswana Premier League (BPL) chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi is demanding his reinstatement. Mamelodi was suspended by the BPL board in March together with his personal assistant, Mogolo Sekgwa over issues of financial mismanagement.

Their suspension also saw Walter Kgabung and Solomon Mantswe both being recalled as the chairperson and vice chairperson respectively.

Rapula Okaile took reins as the interim chairperson while Botswana Football Association (BFA) CEO, Kitso Kemoeng was roped in to be the acting BPL CEO. Mamelodi has since served the BPL with court papers challenging his suspension, which he said is unconstitutional.
