Thato Patlakwe is the new president of the Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) after beating Michael Moroka at the polls on Saturday in Lobatse. Moroka has been BoBA president for the past four years.

Patlakwe garnered 13 votes, while Moroka only managed to get six votes. In his speech, Patlakwe said the starting point would be to place the interests of the boxers at heart.

“We also need to improve the quality of our tournaments,” he said. Patlakwe, a medical doctor, has experience working with boxing organisations in the United States.
