The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has moved swiftly to suspend the general manager of football operations, Monnakgotla Mojaki over a leaked audio clip about bribing referees.

In the audio, the voices suspected to be that of Mojaki and referee, Joshua Bondo, are holding a discussion about bribing a referee to influence the outcome of a match. A certain Zakhem is mentioned in the four-minute-long audio. BFA issued a statement last night indicating it was investigating the matter and Mojaki has been suspended by the association as a result.

A source indicated BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti directed Mojaki be suspended pending investigations. "The BFA national executive committee also wanted similar action taken, which is why Mojaki has been suspended," the source said.

Both Mojaki and Bondo are under investigation following the audio that has since gone viral. There was no comment on Mojaki's suspension from BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo who had not responded to Mmegi Sport inquiries at press time.
